Accordingly, by interviewing experts, a model was drawn for service learning with an emphasis on green economics; then the junior high school science teachers validated it. The data collection tool was a researcher-made questionnaire. The statistical population of the study was all 630 junior high school science teachers in Sari and 238 teachers were selected as the research sample by simple random sampling using the Morgan table. Atlas TI software was applied to collect data in the qualitative part and SPSS and LISREL software in the quantitative part. The results revealed that the service-learning element has components of social reconstruction, social literacy training, and social action. Meanwhile, the green economy element has components of sustainable transportation, renewable energy, environmental health, green buildings, water management, and waste management.

The stratified random sampling was employed in this study in an attempt to recruit 283 individuals as prospective participants. The sample size was calculated using the Cochran formula. Data collection tool was a questionnaire; its validity was confirmed by experts and scholars. Cronbach's alpha was reported as 0.93 for the questionnaire. Average application of soil conservation practices was medium. Average awareness of soil conservation practices was much and average use of educational method was low. A stepwise multiple regression analysis showed that 65 percent of the rice cultivators’ soil conservation practices application variance was explained by the use of educational methods, age, awareness of soil conservation practices and literacy level.
